My Edible Eden

All our progress is an unfolding, like a vegetable bud. You have first an instinct, then an opinion, then a knowledge as the plant has root, bud, and fruit. Trust the instinct to the end, though you can render no reason.
           - Ralph Waldo Emerson

About

My Edible Eden, Jami SchollJami Scholl was inspired to create My Edible Eden in February 2008, and had her first customer in May of the same year. Her passion for growing food began in her first garden located next to a decaying log at age 10. Her parents gave her three leftover tomato plants from the family garden and four potato pieces to plant in her own little plot.

Jami has earned an AA from Miami International University of Art & Design, a BA from Indiana University and is a certified Permaculture designer.

Having also been inspired by Native American peoples agricultural practices, culture and art, Jami brings a unique perspective to the importance of food and food security issues. She continues to expand her knowledge and interest in gardening techniques and design through visits abroad and experimentation in her own garden and landscape. She is particularly interested in the Potager du Roi in Versailles, techniques of the Parisian market growers of the 19th century, and historic agricultural practices.

That childhood summer of tomatoes and potatoes were fateful - her thumbs, hands, and arms, became green from frequently tending the tomato plants. She has not stopped playing in the "dirt" since.
